Free Pilates Class

Spooky Stroll-a-Story in OCC
Take a spooky stroll in Old Colorado City and read "The Baddies" by Julia Donaldson and illustrated by Axel Scheffler. Find a page at each location featured on the map, and head inside- there will be a special treat waiting for you (store hours vary by location)!
Starting October 1st, the map of the walking path for the story can be found under the attachments on this page. Printouts will also be available at the Old Colorado City Library.
Math Tutoring
Need math help? Come work with our community volunteer tutors. All grade levels welcome. No reservations necessary. Tutors available on a first-come, first-served basis. Tutoring is provided free of charge.

2nd Annual Halloween Trick or Treat Mingle Moves to The Citadel Mall for Bigger, Better Family Fun
Colorado Springs, CO – The 2nd Annual Halloween Trick or Treat Mingle is creeping back into town on Saturday, October 18, 2025, and this year it’s bigger, better, and indoors at The Citadel Mall! After an incredible turnout in 2024, this beloved community event has moved to a larger space to make room for even more festive fun.
Presented by Colorado Business Mingle and the popular 411 for the 719 Facebook Group, this free Halloween event offers a warm, safe, and exciting indoor environment for families to enjoy a full afternoon of spooky fun — no matter what the Colorado weather brings.

Giving Back Through Creativity
This year’s event supports The Arts Complex, a local nonprofit dedicated to providing free and low-cost visual art, dance, and theater classes to students from Title I schools and underserved communities in the Colorado Springs area. Their mission is to make the arts accessible, helping youth gain confidence, creativity, and a voice through creative expression.
“We believe every child deserves access to creative opportunities,” said Becky McClanahan Executive Director of The Arts Complex. “This event is a fun and meaningful way for the community to support kids who might not otherwise have access to arts education.”
“We outgrew our space last year thanks to the amazing turnout,” said Andrea Freygang, co-founder of Colorado Business Mingle. “Now with more vendors, more room to explore, and an amazing nonprofit partner, we’re excited to bring families together for a celebration that’s as impactful as it is fun.”

The famous Venetucci Farm Pumpkin Patch is back! Our Pumpkin Patch has games, hay rides, pumpkins, flowers, maze, makers market and more! There's sure to be something for everyone. See you in the Pumpkin Patch.
Pumpkins are $10 for any size. Bring a wagon to transport to your car!
We have a limited number of wagons available.

Sewing Level 2: Tote Bags Primary tabs
Take your skills to the next level! Sew a tote bag using Library sewing machines. A basic understanding of sewing machines is required for this class. If you do not have prior sewing experience, please consider taking our Sewing Level 1 class first. All supplies will be provided.

Clay Exploration: Oil Diffusers
Join us and experiment with clay at the Sand Creek Library Makerspace in a two-part class. In part one you will learn how to shape a project out of clay, and in part two you will learn how to glaze it. Take your finished creation home to enjoy at the end of the month.
This month's project is Oil Diffusers. All skill levels are welcome and all supplies will be provided. Ages 9 and up. Ages 9 - 11 must be accompanied by an adult.
Reading Roll Call With CSPD
Reading Roll Call is hosted by our local Colorado Springs Police Officers. Join us for stories and adventures at Sand Creek Library. This is a drop-in program for kids 0 - 12.
Trunk or Treat and Movie in the Park
Join us for a Community Trunk or Treat and Movie in the Park Event.
The Trunk or Treat will begin at 5:30pm at Pi-Ute Park and will conclude with a Movie in the Park showing Hocus Pocus.
We will have food vendors to purchase dinner and snacks, so put on your costume and join us for the fun!
Pumpkin Carving Party
Carve pumpkins to leave for the lighted trail at the Jack-o-Lantern event! Pre-scooped pumpkins, patterns, and carving tools provided. Return at night to see your creation in action along the trail. Pumpkins may be retrieved after 7:30 p.m.
$5 per pumpkin, you will receive a ticket to the Jack-o-Lantern Trail event for each pumpkin you carve.

Halloween History Detectives
Join Us for a Spooktacular History Adventure!
Families are invited to pick up a History Detectives passport at the front desk. Embark on an exciting journey through the museum as you trick-or-treat for fascinating facts and enjoy a variety of activities:

Pokemon Free Play Sundays (Learn How To Play)

Join us for our Learn to Play Pokemon event, where the Impact Pokemon team will be teach you the basic skills needed to play the game, and also help you improve your skills and build an understanding of the intricacies of the game. This interactive workshop will help students work through the steps of turning a general idea into a science project, from topic selection, to formulating a testable question or design goal, to collecting data to analyze. Equinox Hike
Join the Colorado Springs Astronomical Society at Garden of The Gods on September 22nd from 7:00 – 9:00 PM for a one-of-a-kind nighttime hike to welcome the start of Fall. What does the Equinox mean for us on Earth and what did it mean to civilizations before clocks and computers? Learn how ancient civilizations used the stars as their religious and agricultural calendar.
Race Against Suicide
Whether you’re joining us for the 5K run or 3K walk, this powerful event is a chance to come together in support of suicide prevention and healing. All proceeds go directly toward the free mental health and suicide prevention services we provide to our community. Let’s walk, run, and stand together—because no one has to face this alone.
Lowe’s Kids Workshops
Get into the NFL season with Lowe's Home Town Scoreboard workshop! Kids get to build their favorite team's scoreboard, learn simple mechanics and add excitement to their space. It’s the perfect workshop for young sports fans.
Family Activity Backpacks
Members of the Fine Arts Center can explore the museum with a family backpack filled with intriguing items and fun activities. Backpacks contain tools, tips, and games to help children ages 5-9 and their adult(s) make the most out of their museum visit together and think about art in new ways. Finish up your visit with an art project using our art materials and take home your creation.
Art Classes at Glen Eyrie
Led by Sherry Graf, who has been painting watercolors and teaching for over 5 years. Her classes are tailored for beginners. Spend 2 hours learning to watercolor with step by step instruction. The cost is $29 which includes all supplies, plus a coupon for a handcrafted coffee drink from our Glen Eyrie Cafe.
Each participant will leave with their painting. Every class will have a different painting subject from the following week. Children 12 and older are welcome with a paying adult.
Glow Big or Go Home
This Glow Big or Go Home weekend will light up your nights with family-friendly fun, neon creativity, and glowing memories! From sports and crafts to dancing and scavenger hunts, there’s something for everyone to enjoy. Don’t miss out on this unforgettable, glowing adventure!
Tune Titans: Musical Improv Show
Join our musical improv team, Tune Titans as they create an original fully improvised broadway style musical. If you're a fan of comedy and music, don't miss the action as we take your audience suggestions and turn them into original songs featuring live musical accompaniment!
Museum Free Day
The second Saturday and the third Friday of each month, general admission to the FAC museum is free to the public.
Whats Included?
On designated free days, visitors can explore the FAC Museum’s permanent exhibits, interactive exhibits, and special exhibitions for FREE! No need to reserve tickets in advance, just visit on an upcoming free day and admission is free.
Little Learners: It's Symbolic
Little Learners (ages 3-5) and their favorite grownup are invited to learn and play through games, crafts, songs, and history challenges. These programs are designed to help young learners discover and practice essential development skills, all while exploring local history!
In this month’s program, we’ll work on the Colorado Early Learning & Development Guidelines of exploring the meaning behind symbols and objects.
Briargate Farmers Market
With an average of about 35 vendors, you can look forward to seeing many booths set up including (but not limited to) Abdul's Produce, Royal Crest Dairy, Mountain Man Honey, Homemade Bread, seasonal Palisade peaches, Lawn decor, pasta, tupperware, Pampered Chef, jewelry, dog treats, locally ground coffee, and many more. This year we will have more produce along with even more vendors!

Practice reading aloud and improve fluency by sharing a story with one of our lovable volunteer Paws to Read therapy dogs. If your child might benefit from sensory accommodations such as fidgets or noise-reducing headphones, please request a Sensory Accommodations kit from the desk.
